At some point in your life, you are going to find yourself going through houses online the way you browse clothes on the web. Because not only are humans born curious, they are also born dreamers. Well, everyone looks forward to having their own space – their ‘dream house,’ as they call it.
But all too often, this dream gets stuck in the ‘dream’ phase and never gets into that much-coveted ‘reality’ state. And here’s why – getting yourself a house is costly. Or so you think it is.
Bill Ellison, with his impoverished background, knows what it’s like to dream of something but never having the means to actually achieve it. This drove him to create an avenue where he can meet these dreamers halfway by providing them the opportunity to breathe life into their visions.
His early years were a series of heart-wrenching events that you’d think it was taken straight out of a movie. He spent his childhood living on welfare and had to literally stand in line at the church for free powdered milk, bread, and cheese. Later on, he got sent to foster care due to the physical abuse he suffered from his stepfather. Feeling miserable, he ran away from the foster facility and had to spend a night in county jail. But the day after, his mother got him out and took him home. During his senior year in college, he worked at IBM under a co-op program and continued to do so even after he graduated.
The family life Bill had back then was far from a colorful one. And you’d think that this would taint his views on having his own family, but it didn’t. Quite the contrary, he used his tragic experiences as his impetus for a better life. He vowed never to let his own family go through the same ordeals he did. By the age of twenty, he had two children, and this meant he had to work twice as hard. He soon got hired by an environmental company where he would be setting up computer systems all over the United States of America. It was a tedious job for a man who was already juggling with so many things to earn a living. But he didn’t mind.
Years later, all of Bill’s efforts and struggles finally paid off. His hard work and impressive conversation skills caught his boss’ attention, who then introduced him to the president of a home building company. This marked the beginning of his journey to the world of real estate. Selling new homes, he won several sales awards and eventually landed on a six-figure income. Things were finally looking up for him.
But although he enjoyed selling houses and earned a hefty income out of it, something was telling Bill to take a step further and explore the construction industry. He then took a job building new homes for a small builder company and used his time there to learn all there is to know about building houses.
After mastering everything about the construction business, Bill founded ASGi Homes. His mission is to build affordable houses for people who can only afford a $100,000 home instead of the usual range of $200,000 to $250,000. The hundred-thousand-dollar price was fixed primarily for first-time homebuyers and investors. This is a platform for those who dream of owning a house but deem it impossible because it takes putting up a lot of money.
